SUMMARY:The VSO at the Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Vermont Symphony Orchestra will make its annual visit to the Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival on Thursday\, August 22 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Wilson Hall in the McCullough Student Center. They fill feature the final act of the film The Adventures of Prince Achmed\, by revolutionary filmmaker Lotte Reiniger. It is the first full-length animated feature film\, made in 1926. In 2019 I wrote a new score for full orchestra for the final two acts. For this showing of Act V I have arranged my music for large chamber ensemble.

SUMMARY:UVM Concert Choir Sings "Mud Season in Vermont"
DESCRIPTION:A celebration (?) of everyone’s favorite season and the rather squishy way it arrives in Northern New England. The program features the cantata Springtime on Funen by Danish composer Carl Nielsen\, and the premiere of Mud Season in Vermont by Vermont composer Erik Nielsen\, along with folksongs\, classical works\, a showtune\, and a tango\, all examining spring from different perspectives.
